The Museum's art collection has been growing over a long period of time.
The very first piece of art for this collection was delivered as early as 1794. It was a portrait, which was said to picture the revolutionist Nils Dacke. The collection grew through donations and purchases. During the recent years, the museum has focussed on artists with a connection to the region of Småland. Today, the collection hosts about 1000 oil paintings as well as paintings created with other materials and techniques. You can view a part of them in the organ hall of Småland Museum.
