Sweden´s first toy factory was founded in Gemla in 1866 and since then various companies have produced toys on the premises. On the historic farm, houses a toy museum displaying a wonderful selection of wooden toys from the last 100 years.

A photo exhibition of the toy museum can also be seen. In the main farmhouse, there is a room documenting the Life of Nobel laureate Pär Lagerqvist, who is originally from the area. There are also photographic records of the history of Gemla´s paper production from 1745 to 1979. Open by appointment and some sundays during the summer.
